# Local, Hosted & Connected Intelligence

Phasoric uses a clear intelligence hierarchy so useful assistance remains available without silently moving your notes to a remote service.

## 1. Local intelligence

Local intelligence is available on every plan. Phasoric first checks browser-managed intelligence and your configured local model service. When either route completes the task, note excerpts remain on your device and no AI credits are used.

## 2. Metered hosted fallback

Free and paid hosted accounts can explicitly enable **Phasoric hosted · metered credits** in **Settings → Intelligence**. Phasoric uses this route only after enabled local providers are unavailable or fail.

- A $5.99 pack adds 50,000 Phasoric Credits and remains in the account balance until used.
- Free accounts consume purchased credits.
- Premium includes 25,000 Phasoric Credits each month. Professional and Developer include 50,000; Team includes 50,000 per seat. Included credits are used before purchased credits.
- Charges use the provider's reported request cost plus Phasoric's configured service margin.
- The credit ledger records input and output tokens, provider cost, allowance use, and the final deduction.

Only the bounded source excerpts and instructions required for the request are sent. Hosted fallback stays disabled until you turn it on.

## 3. Bring your own provider

Premium-family plans can connect a supported subscription or API provider instead of using Phasoric credits. Credentials are encrypted server-side, never returned to the browser after saving, and can be revoked from Intelligence settings.

## Configure the fallback order

1. Open **Settings → Intelligence**.
2. Leave **Prefer local providers before connected providers** enabled for the local-first route.
3. Check browser and local-model availability.
4. Select **Phasoric hosted · metered credits** or, on a Premium-family plan, a connected provider.
5. Enable **Allow hosted fallback** only when you want remote processing to be available.

Agent Studio and Research Studio show the active provider while generating, allow cancellation, and preserve useful partial output when a request is stopped.
