Connect VS Code / GitHub Copilot to Phasoric
Complete Prepare your Phasoric vault. You need VS Code with MCP support, access to Copilot agent functionality, and permission to use the server under your organization's policies.
Add an HTTP server
- Open the Command Palette and run MCP: Add Server.
- Choose the HTTP server option and enter
https://phasoric.com/api/mcp. - Name the server phasoric and choose the Workspace or Global configuration target.
- Start the server from VS Code's MCP controls, review the trust prompt, and complete OAuth sign-in to Phasoric.
- In Copilot Chat's agent mode, enable the Phasoric tools and ask it to list your vaults.
For workspace configuration, the equivalent .vscode/mcp.json entry is:
{
"servers": {
"phasoric": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://phasoric.com/api/mcp"
}
}
}
Merge into an existing file without removing other servers. Use VS Code's credential handling for OAuth rather than committing tokens. See Microsoft's current MCP setup guide.
Verify the result
Ask “Use Phasoric to find our project decision record and explain what changed, with source paths.” If a tool requires approval, review it before continuing. Use the Phasoric read/write verification steps to distinguish a working connection from a missing mapping or denied write permission.
These instructions apply to Copilot inside VS Code; they do not configure the separate GitHub-hosted coding agent.
